<p style="text-align: justify;">This study aims to evaluate the leadership practices of a sample secondary school principals in Madrid region. An attempt will be made provide some insights into their professional profile, performance tasks, and different elements that define model. online questionnaire was used collect opinions on day-to-day role, as well factors influence style. From methodological point view, quantitative approach is within an interpretative framework, given emphasis not generalisation results but understanding how operate particular context. Results revealed instructional Spain still seen challenging goal for principals. This closely line with bureaucratic nature headship role Spanish schools.</p>
